Location - Fonte di Mommialla
Fonte di Mommialla is situated on the boundry between the provinces of Florence, Siena and Pisa on the main route to the Etruscan city of Volterra, and 20 minutes from the medieval town of San Gimignano.

3km from the house is a small village called Castagno, centred around a typical Tuscan restaurant and delicatessan, whilst both towns, Montaione and Gambassi, are about 20 minutes away offering all the usual shops and services. The area is full of excellent restaurants and wine sellers where visitors can try well known local wines.

Pisa's International airport is approximately 45 minutes away, and Florence is about an hour.

Tuscany's heart began to beat strongly in the castellated village of Certaldo. A perfectly straight long street celebrates the name of the illustrious native poet, Giovanni Boccaccio, author of the Decameron, who lived in a towered hours in this slightly sloping stretch that regally proceeds down to Pertorio Palace with its facade studded by numerous coats of arms.

A brief descent leats to the small rounded archway of Rivellion from where Certaldo's most beautiful view can be admired: to the right the village houses form a disorderly vermilion coloured arch that embraces the hill, further down is the Elsa valley, and beyond the bluish haze in the distance, the splendid towers of San Gimignano. The history of the towers goes back centuries. During the 13th centry a tough, strong aristocracy spontaneously began this urban project which forever marked the city.

Driving along the panoramic roads from Certaldo in the direction of Volterra, one encounters gems like the villa "La Collgiata", dating back to 1500 and belonging to the Medici family, the "chiesa Cellole" built 1233 and Etruscan tombs.

At the top of these hills the visitor finds a view that "would make your head-spin", to the right is the Etruscan city of Volterra, to the left perched on a rocky spur is Castelfalfi, and in the middle, gentel hills disappearing into infinity.
