Location - Fattoria, San Miniato
Fattoria San Miniato is halfway between Florence and Pisa in an area of Tuscany characterised by rolling hills, farmed for centuries by local farmers. The city of San Miniato is 10 minutes away and is famous for its tower and and the annual truffle fair, which attracts gourmets from all over Italy. Pisa and Florence are about 40 minutes away, using the motorway that crosses the Arno river valley.

San Miniato is in a strategic position at the "crossroads" of the Arno and Elsa river valleys and it is for this reason that it was fought over so feverently centuries ago. Its position guaranteed dominancy over 2 principal communication routs, and as such change hands between the Guelfi and Ghibellini more than any other Italian city.

Crossing the Arno valley we arrive in Florence, the most notable city in Tuscany. From the 13th - 16th century, Florence was adorned with all manner of works of art, paintings, palaces, frescoed churches... transforming itself into the undisputed pearl of the renaissance.

Visiting Florence is always an emotional experience, even for those who know it well. Florence is the colour of tufo, of pietra serena and macigno di Maiano; best seen mid season and at dawn or dusk when the sun beats down on the red roof tiles, or under a sunset reflected onto the waters of the Arno.
