About the company
Casa Toscana was incorporated as a company in December 1998 after a substantial period of research and analysis into the Umbrian and Tuscan property market. It is a private limited company, registered in the United Kingdom.

A practising and qualified Architect for twenty years with vast experience in contract formulation, project management and national awards in design. Chris Chapman has also acted as a specialist consultant and as an Expert Witness for other Architects and Planning practices including planning appeal work.
Following an Honours Degree and Masters Diploma with distinction at a London University, four years were spent designing for the Greater London Council followed by two years for the John Lewis Partnership. Thereafter, six years as a partner in Private Practice, the latter period of which was spent as a Consultant. Early design experience centred principally around commercial developments. Since 1985 however, Chris has developed his own practice which is multi disciplined and achieves annual construction values of up to £20 Million. Approximately half current commission are in the luxury private residence field.
Since co-founding Casa Toscana in 1998, Chris Chapman has acted as Chief Executive Officer and spent considerable time researching the property market in Tuscany and Umbria, building up working Partnerships with many local builders, designers and agents. Securing the services of Marco Vigni culminated in Marco's appointment as Director of Operations. Chris has also worked closely with Casa Toscana's appointed legal team regarding the purchase of properties and is conversant with Italian realty conveyancing.
Following the purchase of Casa Toscana's pilot scheme, Casa del Monte, Chris organised local designers, agents and a variety of contractors to carry out all works including the incorporation of a new swimming pool and extensive landscaping. Procuring necessary consents and statutory body approvals was also necessary. These services culminating in the successful marketing and sale of the property. Now strenghened by the local experience and development skills of Marco Vigni, the day to day and long term management of Casa Toscana is entrusted to professionals with substantial knowledge of construction and development as well as a sound understanding of Italy and its beaurocracy.

Marco Vigni, an Italian designer from San Gimignano, has been operating successfully for many years from both London and in Italy. The family business, Lo Studio Tecnico Vigni, has been established for 40 years and has a fine reputation in Tuscany.
